After spending way too much money on deck and porch chairs over the years only to have them break down after a few seasons, we needed a viable alternative. We wanted something heavy duty, that can stand up to the elements. These chairs are the answer. They are heavy and rugged, made with treated 2×4 with recessed coated woodscrews. They are built to last, and they are designed to sit higher off the ground compared to the common Adirondack, which makes it easier to get into and out of for older adults and those with disabilities. These chairs are outfitted with large seats and can accommodate larger sized individuals comfortably. After letting the treated lumber used in the chairs dry out (recommend waiting about 6 months), we put a couple of coats of water seal on the chairs, and they look fantastic. Because of the weight of the chairs, we put nylon screw on furniture glides on the feet of the chairs to prevent scratching the deck as the chairs are heavy. We anticipate the chairs will last many years with a re-application of water seal every couple of years (be sure to coat all sides including the bottom of the chair feet with water seal). Best deck furniture we have ever used.
